Lena Bramblett’s St. Catharine College women’s team avenged a season-opening loss against Midway by beating the visiting Eagles 71-61 last Tuesday. But the Patriots dropped two tough decisions last weekend at the Sport One Classic at Indiana Tech to fall to 5-7 for the season.

Erin Rogers led three players in double figures against Midway as the Patriots built a 43-32 halftime lead and held on for the 10-point victory. Brittany Darden had 16 points along with nine rebounds, and Danielle Brown had 16 points and eight boards. Midway opened the season with a 64-59 win over St. Catharine.

The victory over Midway was the only win of the week for the Patriots, who lost twice in Fort Wayne. Friday they fell 68-59 against the host Indiana Tech team, and Saturday they suffered a two-point setback to Northwestern Ohio.
