In addition to joining the NAIA this year, athletic teams at St. Catharine College are also members of the United States Collegiate Athletic Association. The USCAA is an organization of 70 smaller schools throughout the nation that helps the members receive more national attention.

Some of that national attention came St. Catharine’s way last week as Erin Rogers, a junior guard from Ballard High School, was named USCAA Player of the Week. Rogers earned the honor for a three game stretch in which she averaged 18.3 points a game against Union College, Asbury and Brescia. Rogers averaged four rebounds in the three games.

For the season, Rogers ranks in the top 25 among all NAIA players in three categories. She is 21st in points per game with an 18.3 average, 22nd in 3-point goals made a game (2.6) and 23rd in steals with three a game.

“She is a tough kid who gets it done on the court and in the classroom,” said St. Catharine coach Lena Bramblett. “Erin is the kind of player you love to coach.”
