Several candidates filed to run in the November general election

Tuesday was the deadline to file to run for a political office in Kentucky.

Several filed to run for offices in Washington County.

Seven people filed to run for six seats available on the Springfield City Council. Incumbents include Brooke Murphy Coulter, John "Willie" Ellery, Carolyn Hardin, Lisa J. Haydon and Debbie Wakefield. Those who filed that don't currently sit on the council are Chris Essex and John R. Hardin.

Three filed to run for one seat available in school board district No. 4.
