Although football season has been over for a couple of months, honors are still coming in for the Washington County Commanders as seniors Joe Joe Simms and Lee Mudd have been named as honorable mentions in the 2008 All-State Football Team as selected by the Louisville Courier-Journal.
It was a record-setting season for the Commanders and they had one of the most productive offenses in Kentucky 2A football. Simms completed 189 of 318 passing attempts totaling 2,610 passing yards. Mudd hauled in 973 of those yards on 64 catches during the season.
Those impressive stats were good enough to earn each an honorable mention when the Courier-Journal announced their selections last week.
