Tuesday afternoon, we made wreath birdfeeders and hung them out on a tree. The residents who participated had a nice time. We are now watching for the birds to come by and eat the seeds off the wreaths.
This is Country Music Month, so we had a great time Tuesday night. We spent time naming country songs and singing some of the songs.
Reminiscing fall was enjoyed by the residents in attendance Wednesday morning. We shared memories as poems were read about fall.
A few residents had fun coloring fall pictures in the afternoon. They did a nice job on the pictures. Some hung them in their rooms.
Our family night dinner was a great time for residents, families and staff. The dietary department had a wonderful meal of chili, pimento cheese sandwiches, nachos and cheese dip, apple cobbler and cupcakes for dessert. Molly Lanham and her staff did a great job Thursday night. We had several door prizes and one grand prize was a basket filled with fall things. Chris Newby was our grand prize winner.
After our chili supper, Nelson Reynolds and family led a worship time with lots of gospel singing for all to enjoy. We appreciate Nelson, Peggy and Rebecca for all they do for us each month. Rebecca is a young, talented puppeteer.
Our Just Picture It Activity brought back memories as we identified what was happening in each picture. The residents who participated liked it on Friday morning.
As Friday was a beautiful fall day, we spent time enjoying an opportunity to just sit on the porch and talk. We like to sit out on the porch this time of the year.
Sunday afternoon, Springfield Baptist Church led us in worship. The singing and preaching were nice. We appreciate the opportunity to worship each Sunday as the different churches hold services for us.
