Former Washington County High School golfers Aaron Spalding and Chase Spalding signed scholarship offers to continue their golf careers at St. Catharine College.

“I am excited to have Aaron and Chase in our program,” said St. Catharine Head Coach Joan Rizer. “They are good students as well as good golfers. They will fit in well here.”

Aaron is a 2010 graduate of Washington County, who earned his associate degree in science at Bluegrass Community and Technical College. He plans on a  major in either business or elementary education at St. Catharine.

Chase graduated from Washington County in 2012 and will pursue a major in business or nursing at St. Catharine.

The Spaldings, sons of Donna and Joey Spalding of Springfield, have continued golf since playing for the Commanders in high school, but realize they have room for improvement as they step up to the college game.

“My short game is probably what I need to work on most,” said Chase. “My putting could be improved,” added Aaron.

“Yes, it will be glad to have them close to home,” said Joey Spalding.

“We are excited about them coming to St. Catharine,” added Donna.
