Springfield Sun writer Jimmie Earls remained hospitalized at press time Tuesday after suffering from a stroke Sunday.

Earls, 45, has been working at The Springfield Sun for more than a year, covering local sports and news stories.

He became ill around noon Sunday, and was taken to Spring View Hospital in Lebanon. He was later airlifted to the University of Louisville Hospital, where he is being treated in the hospital’s stroke unit.

Earls’s family has requested that we share information on his condition with our readers, and we will continue to do that as we can.
