A birthday celebration that may have gone a bit too far is being blamed for  the destruction of property, as well as the theft of some items at Mordecai’s Restaurant on Main Street in Springfield.

According to a report by Springfield Police Officer Charlie Osbourn, three people are charged after they allegedly drank heavily at Mordecai’s while celebrating a birthday, then destroyed two brass light fixtures in the men’s room of the restaurant, as well as taking several pictures and a plaque from the wall of the restaurant’s lobby.

Charged in the incident were Joshua Edward Barlow, 24; Brittany Ann Coyle, 23; and Johnathan Glen Zevotek, 25, all of Springfield. The three were each charged with theft by unlawful taking, criminal mischief second degree, and public intoxication. All charges were brought by the Washington County Attorney’s Office.
