A Springfield man charged with incest is scheduled for trial in Washington Circuit Court on Feb. 12.
Kenneth W. Thompson, 45, of 202 Commercial Ave., in Springfield, faces 36 counts of raping a juvenile relative, according to court records. The alleged incidents occurred sometime between spring 2010 and March 2011. Thompson’s home on Commercial Avenue burned down in July 2010 after a fire started in his son’s bedroom, according to previously published reports in The Springfield Sun. Thompson, who suffers from muscular dystrophy and is confined to a wheelchair, was pulled from the smoldering house by a local real estate agent.
