Washington County girls’ basketball senior Kenya Turner moved another step up the all-time scoring list with 12 points in last Tuesday’s win against Campbellsville, and her next achievement is in sight.
The 6-3 center surpassed the 1,500-point mark last week, becoming just the fourth Commanderette in school history reach the milestone. Turner entered the season as the school’s fifth all-time leading scorer, but currently sits fourth on the list after passing Jane Goatley earlier in the season.
Turner, currently at 1,519 points, sits only 87 points behind Valerie Hamilton for third on the all-time list with seven regular season games and at least one district tournament game remaining.
The senior has scored 283 points this year and is putting up 14.2 points per game for the 10-10 Commanderettes.
