Turner joins the 500-point club

A new member of the Washington County High School girls’ basketball 500-point club was initiated Friday, Jan. 28, during the second quarter of the Commanderettes’ game against Fort Knox.

Sophomore Kenya Turner reached the milestone in the second quarter and finished with 26 points in a 49-31 win over the Lady Eagles.
According to information provided by team statistician Linda Hourigan, Turner is the 37th player in Washington County High School girls’ basketball history to have 500 career points or more. The last player to reach the milestone was teammate Shay Yocum earlier this season.
