Two men were killed in a two-vehicle accident on KY 555 on Tuesday, Jan. 13.

Richard Wayne Miles, 48, of Springfield, was traveling north on KY 555 around 10 p.m. According to a report by Kentucky State Police, Miles attempted to pass another vehilce in a no-passing zone when the 1995 Ford truck he was driving collided with a 2007 Chevrolet van driven by Willie J. Adams Jr. of Washington, Pa., as it traveled south on KY 555. After the impact, Adams’ vehicle left the road and came to rest on an embankment, while Miles’ vehicle was facing east on KY 555.

Both men were transported to Spring View Hospital in Lebanon where they were pronounced dead by Marion County Coroner J.R. Moraja Sr.

Miles was wearing a seatbelt, but Adams was not, according to the report.
