Gov. Steve Beshear’s office announced the latest counties to be recognized as “work ready” last week, and it may be sooner rather than later that Washington County joins that list.
On the heels of Nelson and Pulaski counties becoming certified as Kentucky Work Ready communities, Springfield-Washington County Economic Development Authority (SWEDA) Executive Director Daniel Carney said the necessary criteria for Washington County to be eligible has nearly been met.
