The Kentucky State Fair begins on Thursday and Washington County 4-H members will be there competing from the very first day. Thursday is the 4-H country ham competition, Friday is the 4-H rabbit show and on Saturday, the 4-H Young Riders will perform their club act in Cloverville. The youth poultry show is also during the first few days of the fair. The following week will include Washington County 4-H members on Wednesday performing in Cloverville, beginning at 11 a.m., and a first-year member competing in the youth swine show. On Thursday, members will compete in the youth beef heifer show.

If you go to the Kentucky State Fair, check out Cloverville in the West Wing and look for Washington County 4-H projects. Washington County has entries in categories from photography to cooking to sewing and electricity. Books listing the results of all counties are available to look up specific youth and their awards.

Watch for results and photos in several weeks of all of the Washington County 4-H. Good luck to them all!

Three Washington County 4-H Young Riders club members competed in the 2012 Southern Regional 4-H Horse Show held in Perry, Ga. two weeks ago.  Brandon Wells, Cody Thompson and Hannah Harmon showed their Tennessee Walking Horses, winning several awards.

The Washington County 4-H were three of the eight that made up the Kentucky team. Congratulations to each for an outstanding show season.
