The story of the economy in Washington County over the last six years is much the same as it has been throughout the state and across the nation; unemployment rates peaked in 2009 and have been on the mend ever since. With jobless rates in Kentucky dipping below eight percent each of the last three months, according to the Kentucky Education and Workforce Development Cabinet, it would appear that we’re reaching the light at the end of the tunnel.
