By this time next week, Springfield residents will be able to apply at city hall for golf cart permits. City Council held the second reading of the ordinance early Tuesday morning and it will take effect once it is published in the Oct. 1 edition of The Springfield Sun. All council members present voted in favor of the ordinance. Brian Bishop was the only member absent from the meeting.
The ordinance will allow city residents to drive approved golf carts on city streets designated as 35 miles per hour or lower.
