David M. Lucas, 30, received first-aid from Washington County Emergency Medical Services before being flown to UofL with undisclosed injuries.

According to a police report provided by the Washington County Sheriff’s Department, the 2009 Buick Enclave driven by Connie McDonald of Springfield was traveling east on US-150 and making a left turn onto Croake Station Road when it was struck in the side by Lucas’ Honda CBR600 motorcycle.

The report notes that statements from Lucas and another driver on the scene, Richard Broadway of Louisville, indicate that Lucas was attempting to pass the two slowing vehicles when his motorcycle collided with the minivan.

Broadway also corroborated that McDonald gave a left turn signal and began to slow “a good distance” from the intersection.
