Hi everybody! It was a rainy day in Georgia, I mean Kentucky, but that didn’t dampen our spirits. Thirty-six boosters enjoyed a very good meal of hamburgers, hot dogs, coleslaw, baked beans, chips and a delicious ice cream cake for dessert.
We played Bingo. We had four cover-all winners. They were Helen Garhart, Kim Adkins, Angela Arnold and June Shewmaker.
Libby Stava offered prayers for our health concerns and bereaved. Those are Rosemary Devine, Gary Scott, Lisa Dean, Peggy Carey, Emogene Matherly and John Milton Jr.
Today was potluck. Forty-three gathered to enjoy a great meal.
Betty Jean Chesser was a first-time visitor. I think she had a good time. We hope she comes again real soon.
Those mentioned with health concerns were John Milton Jr., Johnny Harmon, Kenneth Riley, Sammy Lambert, Paul Coulter, Ralph Coulter, Joyce Powell, Johnny Curtis, Jack Harmon, Karen Anderson, Clifton Wheatley, Mary Chesser, Bobby Chesser and Aaron Stamper.
The Democratic Woman’s Club of Washington County held its monthly meeting March 18, at Mordecai’s. The meeting was well attended, with several new members joining us.
Beth Gore led the group in finalizing its mission statement. Discussion for completing guiding principles for the group was begun. The next meeting will be April 15, at the Washington County Public Library. Everyone is welcome to attend.
The Rise Youth Group from Washington County Schools came on Wednesday afternoon, Dec. 21.
They sang Christmas songs, played the piano, and presented everyone with a gift and a card. Everyone had a great time with the students. We appreciated what they did for us. It’s great to have young people together with adults. You can see the event on Central Kentucky Television on Channel 6.
