  • ENGAGEMENT: Chesser-Spalding

    Bruce and Sharon Chesser of Willisburg announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Amanda Chesser, to Scott Spalding, son of Tommy and Doris Spalding of Springfield.
    Chesser is a 2001 graduate of Washington County High School. She is a cosmetologist and owner of Amanda’s Tropical Hair Cabana in Bloomfield.
    Spalding is a 2001 graduate of Washington County High School and is employed at Toyotomi in Springfield.
    The wedding will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 24, 2011, at Mountain Valley Wedding Chapel in Pigeon Forge, Tenn.

  • ENGAGEMENT: Case-Curtsinger

    Russell and Cheryl Case of Cynthiana announce the engagement of their daughter, Emily Hunt Case, to Timothy Dewayne Curtsinger, son of Peggy Curtsinger-Hood of Springfield, and the late Eules Hood.
    Case is a graduate of Harrison County High School and the University of Kentucky.  She is the Director of Human Resources at Hyatt Regency Louisville in Louisville.
    Curtsinger is a graduate of Washington County High School and Bellarmine University. He is the owner of Todays Gases in Springfield.  

  • BIRTH: Lenwick: It's twins!

    Jon and Leslie Linwick of Lexington announce the birth of their twins, a son and daughter, on Aug. 10, 2011 at Spring View Hospital in Lebanon.
    Caleb Jonathan weighed 7 pounds, 15 ounces and Bethany Hope weighed 6 pounds, 10 ounces and both were 19.5 inches in length.
    They were welcomed home by a sister, Sofia Grace.
    Maternal grandparents are Steve and Elizabeth Dryman of Springfield.
    Paternal grandparents are Joe and Marla Linwick of Chicago, Ill.

  • BIRTH: Bartley: It's a girl!

    Erica and Jerry Bartley of Springfield announce the birth of their daughter on July 24, 2011 at Spring View Hospital in Lebanon.
    Clara Lynn Bartley weighed 6 pounds, 5 ounces and was 18.5 inches in length.
    She was welcomed home by a brother, Tyler, age 2 1/2.
    Maternal grandparents are Debbie and Danny Humes of Springfield.
    Paternal grandparents are Jerry and Janice Bartley of Springfield.

    Rhonda and Poncho Rodriguez and Mike Jones of Bardstown announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Amber Jones, to Brad Pennington, son of Paula and Allen Pennington of Willisburg.
    Jones is a 2009 graduate of Nelson County High School and the University of Phoenix. She is employed at Kroger Bakery in Bardstown.
    Pennington is a 2009 graduate of Washington County High School. He is employed at Alltech in Springfield.

  • BIRTH: Edwards: It's a boy!

    Andrea P. Fenwick and Andy Edwards of Springfield announce the birth of their son at 4:06 p.m. July 23, 2011 at Spring View Hospital in Lebanon.
    Easton Andrew Edwards weighed 7 pounds, 6 ounces and was 19.5 inches in length.
    Maternal grandparents are Danny and Gayle Fenwick of Springfield.
    Paternal grandmother is Lisa Edwards of Bardstown.

  • BIRTH: Johnson: It's a girl!

    Julie and Matthew Johnson of Springfield announce the birth of their daughter on July 18, 2011 at Spring View Hospital in Lebanon.
    Lyla Elizabeth weighed 8 pounds, 1.5 ounces and was 20 inches in length.
    She was welcomed home by a brother, Xavier Thomas, age 2.
    Maternal grandparents are Leo and Joyce Hamilton of Lebanon.
    Paternal grandparents are Ray and Judy Johnson of Springfield.
    Paternal great-grandparent is Pistol Johnson of Springfield.

    Rob-Ann Mattingly and Thomas Bruce Mattingly of Loretto announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Hannah N. Ruley, to Scotty Nalley, son of Patricia and James Leon Nalley II of Springfield.
    Ruley is a 2005 graduate of Marion County High School and a graduate of Louisville Dental Academy. She is employed at Hedgespeth Family Dental in Bardtown.
    Nalley is a 2005 graduate of Washington County High School. He is employed at Nalleys Exhaust & Brake in Loretto.

  • ENGAGEMENT: Wheatley-McQueen

    Amanda Jo Wheatley and Kristopher Cannon McQueen of Maryland announce their engagement and forthcoming marriage.
    Wheatley is the daughter of Julie Wheatley Wagner, and the late Marion Wheatley.
    McQueen is the son of Charles and Melody Long, and the late Larry McQueen.
    The wedding will be held at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 17, 2011 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. The reception will follow at Holy Trinity.
