    Crystal N. Smith, branch manager who works at U.S. Bank’s office at Loretto, has won U.S. Bank’s Pinnacle Award, the company’s highest employee achievement honor.

    Bill and Brenda White will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 21, 2012 at the Willisburg Christian Church Fellowship Hall.


    They are the parents of four sons: Reid (Wendy) White of South Carolina, Tommy White, David (Donna) White and Darnell (Hollie) White, all of Willisburg; and 10 grandchildren.
    All friends and family are  invited to attend.

    William Marshall and Dorothea Lee Moran will celebrate 70 years of marriage on Oct. 21, 2012.


    William farmed several years after marriage, and in 1955 went to work at General Electric Appliance Park, retiring in 1989.
    Dorothea worked for Dr. R.A. Hamilton for 30 years and retired in 1988.
    They have lived in the Lincoln Park community for most of their married life.
    They have two children, Ronald Moran and Marsha (Moran) Garner.
    They also have four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

    Derick Allen and Kristen Jo Graves Harris announce the birth of their daughter on Oct. 9, 2012 at Flaget Memorial Hospital in Bardstown.

    Amelia and Jeremy Yaste of Springfield announce the birth of their daughter at 5:23 a.m. on Sept. 26, 2012 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.


  • Ann Riggs of Springfield and Kent Myers of Brooks, Ky. announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Nicole Myers of Willisburg, to Jason Osbourne, son of Larry and Barbara Osbourne of Springfield.

    Myers is a graduate from the University of Kentucky with a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and is a support broker with Communicare.
    Osbourne is a graduate of BCTC in 2010 with a degree in electrical technology and industrial maintenance and is a maintenance technician at Tower Automotive.

    As Monday was Columbus Day, we remembered the life of Christopher Columbus and what he did in finding North America. The residents who attended enjoyed this holiday activity.

    Ernest and Nannie Lou (Russell) Bottom of Mackville will celebrate their 75th wedding anniversary on Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012 at 12 p.m. at the Mercer Association of Kentucky Baptists.

    Philip and Lorene Wheatley of Springfield celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Sept. 8, 2012.


    A celebratory Mass was given by Fr. Chris Allegra at Holy Trinity Church.
    A private dinner followed with immediate family, where their children and their spouses presented them with a cruise to the Bahamas.
