    Anna Mae Hilbert, 81, of Louisville, passed away Thursday, June 21, 2012 at the Hosparus Inpatient Care Center in Louisville.

  • Miller Ray Pierson, 81

    Miller Ray Pierson, age 81, of Willisburg, passed away at 4:45 a.m., Monday, June 11, 2012 at his home.
    A native of Washington County, he was born on March 10, 1931 to the late Robert and Mary Call Pierson.
    He was a member of the Anchor of Hope Church and the owner of Pierson Transmission, Starters & Alternator Company in Louisville.
    Preceding him in death were five brothers, Herman, Walter, J.R., Clarence and Raymond Pierson; and two sisters, Ruby Ann Gowers and Edith Louise Rigsby.

  • Nancy Mulligan Spalding, 71

    Nancy Mulligan Spalding, age 71, of McLain Road, Springfield, passed away at 3:46 a.m., Friday, June 15, 2012 at her home after an illness.
    A native of Washington County, she was born on March 7, 1941 to the late George Melvin and Margaret Frances Godbey Mulligan.
    She was a member of St. Rose Catholic Church, a homemaker and a former employee of St. Catharine Motherhouse.
    Preceding her in death were her husband, Harry Lee Spalding on March 11, 2011; a son, William Lee Spalding; and two sisters, Jenny Lou Deep and Mary Ann Davenport.

  • Joseph Thomas Begley, 87

    Joseph Thomas “J.T.” Begley, age 87, of Russell Lane, Springfield, went to be with his Heavenly Father at 10:36 a.m., Sunday, June 17, 2012 at Spring View Hospital in Lebanon.
    A native of Washington County, he was born on July 6, 1924 to the late Joshua L. and Minnie Bell Lanham Begley.
    He was a member of the Bethlehem Baptist Church and he loved the Lord. He was a retired farmer, loved animals and his hobby was raising rabbits.
    Preceding him in death were a brother, James C. Begley; and two sisters, Judy Janes and Edith Mae Begley.

  • Rosa Lee Pope Burton, 96

     

    Rosa Lee Pope Burton, age 96, of Washington Avenue, Springfield, passed away at 8:45 p.m., Wednesday, June 6, 2012 at the Springfield Nursing & Rehab Center.

    A native of Boyle County, she was born on Feb. 20, 1916 to the late John Willis and Etta Lee Bottoms Pope.

    She was a member of the First Baptist Church, a homemaker, a former employee of the Springfield Redrying Company, attended the Bate High School in Danville, a former member of the Progressive Homemakers Club and a member of the Ladies Auxillary Post # 247 American Legion.

  • Mary Jane Osbourn O’Bryan, 78

     

    Mary Jane Osbourn O’Bryan, age 78, of 300 Lincoln Park Road, Springfield, formerly of the Botland community, died at 9:23 p.m. Monday, June 4, 2012 at Norton Hospital in Louisville.

    Born July 28, 1933 in Washington County, she was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Albert “Bunk” and Mary Angela Smith Osbourn; her husband, Joseph Maurice O’Bryan, Oct. 20, 2000; three brothers, Leo, Jack and Dickie Osbourn; and two sisters, Nora Ann and Betty Lou Osbourn.
