    Absentee Voting Machine

    The absentee voting machine is now open in the county clerk’s office. It will be open from 9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and Saturday, Oct. 11 from 9 a.m. – noon for those who are going to be out of town on Election Day or precinct workers who work in another precinct. Oct. 28 is the last day to apply for a mail-in absentee ballot.

    Maker’s Mark Road Closed
    A new entrance road for the Maker’s Mark Distillery in Loretto is being made and in the process of upgrading the road it will be necessary to close Maker’s Mark Road from Burkes Spring Road to Hickory Camp Road for approximately two weeks beginning Sept. 22 to allow for widening of the existing bridge which is located adjacent to the Maker’s Mark Distillery.

    A musical concert and homemade ice cream social will be held at the Springfield Nursing and Rehab Center Wednesday, Sept. 10 at 7 p.m.  Bring a chair and enjoy some great music by Mary Kutter Osborne.  All music lovers are invited to join us.

    Due to the Monday holiday, all Rumpke services for this week will be delayed by one day. Rumpke will operate Tuesday, Sept. 2 through Saturday Sept. 6.

    There will be a Washington County Fair Board meeting on Sept. 4, at 5 p.m.  at the WC Extension Office.
    Anyone interested in helping out with this year’s fair or would like to join the fair board are invited to attend.
