    All sixth-grade students must have a completed physical and an updated immunization certificate for the 2012-2013 school year.
    All new students (students for the first time entering St. Dominic School) must have a physical, eye exam and a copy of their immunization certificate either mailed or brought to the school.

    African American Heritage Festival
    Springfield’s eighth- annual African American Heritage Festival’s theme this year is “Family Affair.”  
    Families are encouraged to bring poster-board-sized exhibits on family histories and genealogy to the Springfield Opera House two weeks prior to the Aug. 3 festival.
    This year’s evening festival will include the Jimmy Church Band, fireworks and preview of the new Lincoln Legacy Museum in 1816 Courthouse in downtown Springfield.
