Residents on Lincoln Park Road, Beechland Road and Pleasant Grove Loop received damage to mailboxes over the weekend.

Over 20 mailboxes were destroyed on the three roads, with the majority of the damage taking place on Beechland.
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office began investigating the incident Saturday.

A special-called fiscal court meeting was held Dec. 14 to discuss funding for a new bridge on Tick Creek Road.

The meeting was called just two days after the court decided to move forward with the process and agree to an engineering contract with local engineer Brad Spalding.
“Even though we made the decision on Monday to proceed, everything has been put on hold,” said Washington County Judge-Executive John Settles.

Lincoln Homestead State Park and a local horse farm will be the backdrop in some scenes of an upcoming Civil War-era film.

Production crews garnered attention at the park last week, as traffic was briefly stopped at times while filming took place.
The movie, a title wasn’t disclosed, was also at Stephen Foster in Bardstown and Copper Canyon near Hopkinsville.
Writer, director and producer Fred Ray said the film is “a small drama with some gunfire.”

The Better Business Bureau is issuing an urgent scam alert cautioning businesses and consumers about an email that is purporting to be from a bbb.org email address about a recently filed complaint.

The email contains a dangerous attachment regarding a complaint and appears to direct recipients to the BBB website. This is a scam. The BBB does not send complaints as attachments via email.
The email appears to come from a fake BBB employee claiming that the recipient needs to review this matter and advise the BBB of their position.
