A new roof is on the way for the Robertson building downtown. It comes with a nearly $44,000 price tag that the tourism commission will pay.

“The building can be great things for the community,” Laurie Smith, city administrator, said. “We’re looking at a lot of potential in terms of grant availability, and where we can do some great things for our community.”
The city received the building as a gift recently, and the city council has been discussing the possibility of fixing the leaking roof.

Tony Webb has been teaching in the technical school setting for more than a decade, and now he’s leading the Marion County Area Technology Center as its principal, where Marion and Washington County students attend.

Webb, who resides in Anderson County, began his career in education later in life. After graduating from the University of Kentucky, he worked at several industries and businesses before stepping into the education field.

The Central Kentucky Community Theatre Inc. (CKCTI), a non-profit 501(c) 3 organization that provides training and performance opportunities in the theatrical arts for youth and adults, recently announced the establishment of a permanent endowment with the Community Foundation of Louisville and the theatre’s first anonymous gift of $50,000. 

St. Catharine College said thank you on Thursday with its annual President’s Society Dinner held in the Spalding Student and Community Center on campus.

Guests enjoyed a social hour before they were treated to a formal dinner while the Mike Tracy Jazz Trio provided  entertainment. Throughout the room, donors were abuzz about all of the great things happening at SCC.
