If the man who police say admitted robbing Sparks General Store earlier this month decides to continue his career in crime, he might want to consider a mask and a way to hide the license plates on his car.

A lot has changed at St. Catharine College since it started 80 years ago. The little college that thought it could is now the little college that knows it can. The institution has expanded in many ways with a record graduating class in Spring 2011, record enrollment for Fall 2011, an expanding list of degree programs including the first graduate courses scheduled for Spring 2012, and a campus-wide expansion of facilities.

When classes opened in Washington County last Thursday, every school in the district saw growth in enrollment. Some were modest, while others were much greater.
According to numbers provided by Chad Willis, director of pupil personnel for the Washington County School District, a total of 101 new students were on the roll for local schools as of Friday.
Willis said North Washington led the way with 47 new students. The school had an enrollment of 471 students last year, and that climbed to 518 at the start of this year.
