Washington County High School principal Paul Terrell announced Tuesday morning that Eric Sagrecy would be named as the Commanders football head coach.
“I’m extremely excited for the opportunity,” Sagrecy said. “Washington County is a great place to live and to raise a family. I’m grateful to Paul Terrell for the opportunity.”
Sagrecy is no stranger to the sidelines at Bennett R. Lewis Field.

The tournament is over, and Connecticut is the national champion of the men's college basketball tournament.

With that news also comes the announcement of winners of The Springfield Sun's reader contest. Points were awarded for correct picks in each round of the tournament, and the overall winner will receive $100, while the second-place finisher will receive $50.

It’s a city with a population of just over 300 people, but Willisburg definitely has some growth in its future.
Willisburg was chartered in 1836, and only recently celebrated the election of not only the first female mayor in the history of Willisburg, but all of Washington County. On Wednesday, the city took another step as it opened its first city hall, despite having established a city government in 1967.

They stand about 2 feet tall, but hydrants could be a huge issue for helping many Washington County residents get a lower fire rating, and lower insurance rates. They could also be the reason local fire ratings increase, and insurance rates skyrocket, according to members of the Washington County Fire Committee.
