The new statue of President Abraham Lincoln was unveiled Wednesday in front of the Washington County Judicial Center. A large crowd gathered in the center of downtown Springfield for the ceremony.
Sen. Dan Kelly (R-Springfield), sculptor Paula Slater, and Rep. Mike Harmon (R) House District 54, worked together to unveil the statue following speeches from several local dignitaries, as well as remarks from Lincoln portrayor Jim Getty, of Gettysburg, Pa.
