The drought was still on when I wrote this piece. Hopefully, it will have rained some by now and our parched earth will be on its way to recovery. Still, you might like this story and get something out of it. I did when I read it some 30 years ago. I’m unsure of the author.
I hadn’t even really noticed it until the trending hashtag of #GoTeamUSA caught my eye on Twitter last week, but we’re only a matter of days away from the 2012 Summer Olympics in London (July 27 to Aug. 12).
I can no longer ignore the itch to write about the classics. They are, after all, books that I not only read more frequently, but read so often I can write about them with ease.
Let me just say that carrying a shotgun (unloaded, of course) through a crowded, public place was the least eventful moment of an interesting day recently.
