Volleyball loses its first game of the season

The Washington County Commanderette (12-1, 2-1) volleyball team’s bid for perfection ended on Monday night after a 3-0 (25-19, 24-21, 25-18) loss to the Bethlehem Banshees (13-2, 5-0).

The Commanderettes were one of only seven teams — WC, Mercy, Oldham County, Assumption, Jackson City, East Ridge, Monroe County — left in the state with an undefeated record going into Monday night’s action, a number that is now down to four after losses by WC, Assumption and Monroe County.
