Commanders look to reclaim their title as 19th District champs

There were a couple of close calls, but the Commanders managed to win two of their final three games ahead of the start of the 19th District tournament. Nervy moments in the final innings of the games against Campbellsville and Boyle County last week ultimately gave way when Washington County was able to hold on and get positive results. The team played Bethlehem in the first round of the tournament on Tuesday, but the results of the game were unknown at press time. The winner is scheduled to play in the championship game on May 24 against either Bardstown or Nelson County.
