Fiscal court to charge fines for E-911 address violations

-A A +A
By Trent Taylor

Before long, those failing to update their addresses in accordance with a new E911 address system could be forced to pay a fine. At its July 8 meeting, the Washington County Fiscal Court heard an update on an E911 address system amendment it approved in April. This amendment is now official, and the fiscal court plans to start making soft enforcements between now and January to help get the word out, followed by hard code enforcements from January to July, with fines to be issued after that date. New address signs cost $12.
