Mercer midfielder signs with SCC soccer

Mercer County High School soccer standout, Savannah Fox, has signed with the St. Catharine College Patriots. Fox, who played center midfield for Mercer County, earned all-district honors in 2006 and 2009, all-region honors in 2009, was named team best offensive player in 2006, and was named most valuable player of the Garrard County tournament in 2007.

She also earned recognition at the Centre College soccer camp where she was named to the elite team in 2008, and at the University of the Cumberlands’ soccer camp where she was named to the all-star team in 2006 and 2007.

Fox has also been a standout on Jay Hoffman’s Central Kentucky Soccer Club 1992 team that was also coached by Greg Conley.

In addition to the soccer awards, Fox earned a distinguished on the CATS test and is a member of the FCA at Mercer County. She plans to major in health science at St. Catharine with a long-term goal of a graduate degree in physical therapy.

“I am excited to sign Savannah,” said Patriot coach Paul Patton. “She is an outstanding player, and I expect that she will have a big impact on our team this fall.”

Savannah is the daughter of Jeff and Jennifer Fox.
