4-H Chili Supper 

A 4-H Chili Supper will be held on Thursday, Feb. 28 beginning at 5 p.m. at the Washington County Extension Office. Proceeds will be used for scholarships to send youth to 4-H Camp. You will also be able to purchase bowls crafted by Washington County High School students. Please contact the extension office at 859-336-7741 for complete details.


Friday, March 1

Kindergarten registration

Washington County Elementary School and North Washington will be having kindergarten registration on Friday, March 1 from 7:50 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.  If you have any questions please feel free to call WCES at 859-336-5490 or NWES at 859-375-4038.


Saturday, March 2

Montgomery Benefit

There will be a benefit auction and chili supper on Saturday, Mar. 2 for the Montgomery family that lost their home to fire on Feb. 2. The event will be at Rockbridge Baptist Church at 460 Rockbridge Lane, Willisburg. The chili supper will begin at 4 p.m. and run till 5:30 p.m. and all that is asked is a love offering for the supper. The auction will begin at 6 p.m.

Coupon Class

The Mackville Community Center will be having a coupon class on Saturday, Mar. 9 from 2-4 p.m. The class is free and open to anyone interested. Monday, March 11

Cake Decorating Class

St. Catharine College is offering a basic cake decorating class on Monday, March 11 from 5-8 p.m. at St. Catharine College in Springfield. The course will be taught by Helen Jo Shewmaker, a baker and decorator. For more information about the class or to register, call Sister Barbara Rapp at (270) 699-2157. All proceeds will benefit the St. Catharine College community and continuing education program. 


Spring into Action  

The Caring Place, a domestic violence shelter, will present the 3rd annual “Spring into Action Against Domestic Violence” basketball tournament for grades 4 and 5 on April 6-7 at the Marion County High School and Lebanon Middle School. Benefit Singing

Redemption Point Church of God, 2526 Hwy. 555, Springfield, one mile east 150 Bypass, is having a benefit singing on Sunday, March 17 at 6 p.m. Everyone is welcome to attend. It will be featuring Trinity Aires, Campbellsville. Proceeds go to The Chesser family to pay funeral expenses. Pastor is Rev. William Adams (502) 507-6939. Saturday, March 23


The Mackville Community Center and Mackville Lions Club, in partnership with Prime Time Wrestling, will be hosting a wrestling match on Saturday, Mar. 23. The match will be held at the Mackville Community Center, doors open at 7 p.m. Food available for purchase. Family friendly show. Proceeds will benefit Mackville Community Center.

New Pioneers

The guest speaker for the New Pioneers for a Sustainable Future’s annual Spring Member Meeting and dessert potluck is Christina Lee Brown, a prominent Louisville philanthropist, supporter of the arts, and sustainability advocate.
