Cancer fundraiser set for June 22 at Lebanon- Springfield Airport

By The Staff

A cancer fighting fundraising effort known for pounding miles of pavement may be taking to the skies this year — weather permitting.

Relay for Life, an American Cancer Society fundraiser organized by Marion and Washington counties, returns to the Lebanon-Springfield Airport for the third year.

“This year, weather permitting, they will offer plane rides,” said Cathy Carrico, a Washington County Relay for Life organizer. “We were going to do it last year, but we had to cancel because the winds were too high.”
