SCC Sports Information
The St. Catharine College volleyball team was hoping for better things in its only match of the week. The Patriots traveled to University of the Cumberlands Tuesday to play a team that they had lost in five sets to earlier in the year, after being ahead 2-0. But this time it was all Cumberlands (11-18, 7-5) as the home team won in straight sets, 25-13, 25-22, 25-18.
The Patriots, now 1-8 in the Mid-South Conference and 5-28 overall, hit for just a .111 percentage with 27 kills for the match. Shauna Stone had five kills and a .250 percentage but she was the only Patriot over .200. Randa Murphy had eight kills to lead the team but hit just .063.
Mandy Gray led the team in digs with 21 followed by Murphy’s 19 digs.
The Patriots finish the regular season with two home matches. Thursday they take on Lindsey Wilson starting at 8:00 and Tuesday they play Campbellsville beginning at 7:00.
Adam Stevenson will then take his Patriots to the Mid-South Conference tournament to be played in Frankfort November 9-10.
