June 7-9
Junior golf league and camp

Lincoln Homestead State Park golf course will host an instructional junior golf camp from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. on June 7-9. Players can sign up in the pro shop. Golf clubs are required to participate.
A junior golf league will be starting at the course on June 14. The league will meet twice weekly, on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., for five weeks. Golfers age 10 through 18 are eligible to sign up. Players can sign up in the pro shop.
Lincoln Homestead will also be hosting a Pepsi Junior Golf Tour event on June 6 at 8 a.m.

Volleyball clinic

The Washington County High School girls’ volleyball clinic will be held June 13-15 from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the middle school gym.
Grades third through eighth, in the 2010-2011 school year, are eligible to participate.

Baseball camp

The Washington County High School baseball team coaching staff recently announced the dates for the 2011 summer camp.
The camp will take place from June 13 to June 15, from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Tom Bystrek Field in Idle Hour Park each day.
Any child entering first grade through eighth grade is welcome to attend.
Campers need to only bring a glove.
The current coaching staff at WCHS, as well as several current players will help campers improve their skills through lectures, drills and game situations.
Each camper will receive a WC baseball camp t-shirt, in addition to three days of instruction.
Pre-registration can be completed by delivering or mailing the registration form by June 7 to WCHS at: Washington County H.S., CO: WCHS Baseball, 601 Lincoln Park Road, Springfield, KY 40069.
Campers are encouraged to pre-register to secure a spot.

June 24-25
Russell Springs tournament

Local teams with players eight and under are invited to the fourth annual Cumberland Crushers Coach-Pitch Classic on June 24 and 25 at Russell Springs City Park.
Teams are guaranteed a minimum of three games. Each team must furnish their own game balls and score book. The home team is responsible for the official score book.
Team and individual awards will be given for first and second place. A home run derby will be held on field number four.

Golf lessons

As a fundraiser for her men’s and women’s golf team at St. Catharine College, head coach Joan Rizer will again be offering golf lessons this spring. The lessons will be given at Bardstown Country Club at Maywood. To set up a time for lessons call Rizer at (502) 507-4777.
