Cowboys and cowboy humor was the theme for our Monday morning activity. Do you remember going to the movies and watching westerns with John Wayne and Gene Autry, the singing cowboy?

We went digging for “ore” as we identified the meaning of words with the letters ore in them.
The competition was great as we pitched horseshoes Tuesday afternoon. Several residents pitched horseshoes and had a good time. We played five ringers made is the winner of the game, however it usually takes more ringers to win.
Wednesday afternoon, the ladies who wanted one, enjoyed a hand massage with lotion.
Some of the residents enjoy listening to me read The Springfield Sun  each Wednesday afternoon. They look forward to hearing about what’s happening in Washington County.
We played Jeopardy on Thursday afternoon. The categories were about things happening in November. We watch Jeopardy on television.
We took time to remember and honor our veterans with a program about Veterans Day on Friday morning. Several of the residents had family members who had been in the military.
Our baking cookies activity was a delicious treat after Bingo on Friday. We baked chocolate chip cookies and who doesn’t like them!
Friday night before supper we had a fun time naming that tune.  Some of the staff joined in the fun.
Joe Hamilton and Country Connection Karaoke Group will be our featured entertainment. The time of this event is 7 p.m. and anyone who enjoys a variety of music is invited to attend.
We paused to honor all our veterans on Monday, for their service to us and their role in securing our country’s liberty and freedom. God bless our veterans from Springfield Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
