William Albert Maupin, 81

William Albert “Bill” Maupin, age 81, of 5053 Springfield Road, Bardstown, died at 8:47 a.m. Monday, May 7, 2012 at Kindred Hospital in Louisville.

Born May 24, 1930 in Marion County, he was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Lee and Mary Lucy Mattingly Maupin; four brothers, Joseph Clarence, Paul Joseph, Charles Robert and Louis Burton Maupin; a sister, Edna Mae Maupin; and a son John William “Billy” Maupin, May 10, 1986.

He was a U.S. Army combat veteran of the Korean War, a former employee of General Electric Co. in Building 2, a former construction worker, farmer and had hauled water for several years.

He was a member of American Legion Post 121 in Bardstown, VFW post in Shepherdsville, a life member of the DAV and a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Fredericktown.

He is survived by his wife, Louise Graves Maupin; three sons, Lee (Regina) Maupin of Manton, Mark (Crystal) Maupin of Bardstown and Todd (Amanda) Maupin of Springfield; three daughters, Margaret (Bill) Adams and Charlotte (David) Adams, all of Bardstown and Jeanette (Stephen) Nally of Springfield; two brothers, Richard Lee (Donna) Maupin of Indianapolis, Ind. and Pat (Helen Ann) Maupin of Lebanon; two sisters, Veronica (special friend, Bill Mattingly) Hagan and Margaret (special friend, Kenny Frye) Fowler, all of Louisville; 21 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral mass was conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 10, 2012 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Fredericktown with Rev. Chris Allegra officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

Pallbearers were Chad Spalding, Brad and Travis Adams, Daniel, Cliff and Cody Nally, Jonathon Maupin and Eric Cambron.

Honorary pallbearers were granddaughters, brothers and sisters.

Hale-Polin-Robinson Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
