  • Commanderettes fall to...

    After a hard fought season the Washington County Commanderettes fell to Elizabethtown in the opening round of the regional tournament. WC played a very tough game and ended up one run short of Elizabethtown who moved on to play Green County in the semi-finals.

  • Commanderettes add JV Soccer...

    Washington County Schools announced that it will be adding a JV soccer program for the 2019-2020 school year. The hope is to expand the program and eventually add a varsity program the following year. For now, the team is only offered to girls, but there is a plan to eventually add a team for the guys as well.

    Athletic director Eric Sagrecy said that it will be a great addition to the school. There was an interest in soccer noticed on the title nine report the school does each year and they started the process to look into starting the program.

    The Washington County Commanderettes have clinched the district championship for the fourth straight year. This is also their fifth straight year to play in the championship game and move on to the regional tournament. Maddie Pettus tossed from the circle in the championship game as WC played Bethlehem.

    After beating Thomas Nelson in the opening round of the district tournament the Washington County Commanders fell short of Bethlehem in the semi-finals. Bethlehem ran away with a early lead and never looked back as the Commanders finished their season.

    The Washington County Commanderettes lost a close game to region rival Taylor County to end the regular season for WC. Maddie Pettus tossed from the circle in the game against TC.

    The Washington County Commanders won their opening game of the district tournament against Thomas Nelson. Josh Cain started on the mound but was relieved after one inning by Taylor Smith who finished for the Commanders.

  • Commanders unable to hold off...

    The Washington County Commanders were unable to hold off a late run by Bethlehem. Bethlehem got a three-run fifth inning to push past WC in the win.

  • Commanderettes dominate senior...

    Last Tuesday the Washington County Commanderettes celebrated senior night with wishing six seniors farewell and they did it in fashion. They dominated Nelson County to keep their streak of district wins in tact as their year begins to wrap up.

  • Big district win for Commanders

    After dropping the first two game of the series to Thomas Nelson, the Washington County Commanders were able to get the bats going to beat them in the last game. The Commanders combined for 14 hits in the win with a final score of 19-2.
